Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Their programs educate, equip, and inspire girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st century opportunities.

With your help, Girls Who Code delivers innovative programs to attend across the US for free. Funds are brought to you by also applied to provide scholarship support for economically underprivileged high school-aged girls to enroll in the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program in cities across the United States.

Courses and clubs feature a girls-first, project-based curriculum to give girls the skills and resources they need for careers beyond the classroom. And they give girls the confidence they need to suceed in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

With 400,000 girls enrolled in 42 states, Girls Who Code has created the largest pipeline of future female engineers in the United States. It's a good start. Now, you can help.

In 1984, 37% of all computer science graduates were women, but today that number is just 18%. Only 20% of AP Computer Science test-takers are female, and a mere 0.4% of high school girls express interest in majoring in Computer Science. What’s going on?

Girls Who Code believes to close the gender gap in technology, we need to inspire girls to pursue computer science by exposing them to real life and on screen role models. Their guest speakers, mentors, and instructors are leaders in their fields, working in positions girls aspire to attain.

Together with leading educators, engineers and entrepreneurs, Girls Who Code has developed a new model for computer science education, pairing intensive instruction in robotics, web design, and mobile development with high-touch mentorship and exposure led by the industry’s top female engineers and entrepreneurs. Since beginning in 2012, Girls Who Code has served over 10,000 girls in 42 states.

Founded in 1997, San Francisco’s leading Sketch Comedy troupe set out to make San Francisco known worldwide as a center for comedy. Killing My Lobster (KML) has influenced a generation of funny people whether they are comedians or not.

KML was hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “the closest thing we have to Second City” and heralded as “an orgy of comic genius” by Comedy Central. KML has created original work for HBO, is a two time winner of the “Best of the Fringe” Award at the SF Fringe Festival and was voted “Best Comedy Group” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. The group founded and produced the long-running Hi/Lo Film Festival. KML also has created numerous award-winning short films, taking home the Golden Spire Prize at the SF International Film Festival.
